Deferment Policy
If you are registered but cannot participate, you may defer your 2026 registration to the 2027 race by paying the applicable deferment fee for each registrant. A deferment is valid for the 2027 race only and cannot be deferred again.
If you prefer a no-cost option, you may transfer to the virtual event by the posted virtual transfer deadline.
Deferment Deadlines
• Standard deferment deadline: April 3, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. PT
• Late deferment period: April 4, 2026 through April 9, 2026 at 12:00 noon PT
After April 9, 2026 at 12:00 noon PT, deferments are closed.
No deferments will be accepted after that time, for any reason. No exceptions.
A DEFERMENT IS NOT AN AUTOMATIC REGISTRATION FOR NEXT YEAR.
ALL 2027 DEFERMENT CODES EXPIRE 12/30/2026.
YOU ARE NOT GUARANTEED ENTRY FOR NEXT YEAR'S RACE UNTIL YOU REGISTER with a valid code prior to its expiration. Be sure to enter a valid email address that you use as that is how we will communicate with you, send you your registration code and let you know when registration opens for next year's race.
Please notify the Great Race office of any personal information changes (i.e., if change your email address or phone number) at greatracehelp@gmail.com with “Deferement Info Change” in the subject line.
Your deferment is not complete until you fill out the form and pay the deferment fee at the link below.
